Hydrating Hair Tea is made using natural botanicals which have been carefully selected from organic, earth friendly, sustainable and pure organics with no hidden infusions.

Our African textured hair, which has been termed 4c hair, loses moisture easily due to our dry climate, hair porosity and the use of chemically stripping products. Our Hydrating Hair Tea is meant to impart hydration to the hair as well as various minerals and hair and scalp loving minerals from the various botanicals.

Hibiscus: improves hair growth, strengthens the hair, reduces split ends and brings shine to the hair. It also reduces early greying of hair.

Lavender: anti-inflammatory qualities creates a healthier scalp environment. Has a calming scent. It reduces the appearance of dandruff.

Green tea: improves blood flow, rich with antioxidants protecting the hair against damage, strengthens the hair, reduces hair loss. It improves hair retention and reduces early greying of hair due to pollution.

Flaxseeds: high in omega 3 fatty acids, strengthens hair, contains Vitamin E and B Vitamins, moisturizes the hair, protects the scalp against dandruff, strengthens hair and provides conditioning effects. The flaxseed gel improves the texture of the hair, making it softer and more manageable. Due to its detangling properties, the fingers slide right through the hair.

How to use:

1. Hair Spritz: take a teaspoon, add to a cup of freshly boiled water and steep for at least 30 minutes. For best results, steep overnight. Strain into a small spray container and store the rest in the freezer. Use the hair tea that is outside the fridge within 3-4 days. Discard immediately if mould is observed. For improved moisturisation properties, add vegetable glycerin. Apply our haircare oils or hair care butters to seal in the moisture.
2. Hair Rinse: take a teaspoon, add to a 2 cup of freshly boiled water and steep for at least 30 minutes. For best results, steep overnight. Strain into a container and rinse as the final rinse in the hair washing routine. For improved anti-dandruff properties, add apple cider vinegar.

How to store: Store the dried botanicals away from sunlight and damp conditions.

Ingredients: Other ingredients are Rose petals, Black cumin, Cornflower, Jasmine, Rosemary, Peppermint.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long can I use my hair tea? Hair tea that has been steeped, if stored at room temperature, should be used within 3-4 days. This is to use the tea before it goes mouldy.  If mould is observed, discard the tea immediately and make a fresh batch. It is advised to prepare small batches of the Hydrating Hair Tea or store excess in the freezer.
2. Can I use the Hydrating Hair Tea on relaxed hair? Yes, you can use it on relaxed, natural, dreadlocks or braided hair.
3. Can I drink the Hydrating Hair Tea? Although we do not market it for drinking, this tea is suitable for drinking. It is high in Vitamin C, for that nasty flue season, and for a natural skin glow. Drink at least one cup a day and should consult a Herbalist before use.
4. Can I use the Hydrating Hair Tea with other products? Yes, after applying the hair tea, go ahead with your routine as normal. You can apply the Rosemary & Cloves Hair Growth Butter or the Rosemary & Cloves Haircare Oils, Moringa Nourishing Hair Oil, Chebe Moisturising Hair Oil or Chebe Moisturising Hair Mask.
5. Is the Hydrating Hair Tea Suitable for use on children? It is safe for use on children that are 3 years and above.
6. Is Hydrating Hair Tea suitable for pregnant and nursing mothers? It is advisable to consult with your physician before use but it is considered safe for nursing and pregnant mothers.
