Natural Skincare and Haircare

We partner with you to help you fill your cabinet with clean, natural products.

Your partner in Natural Skin Care and Hair Care Journey

Our world today is full of synthetic skin care and hair care products, which are laden with chemicals which have been found to be the cause of various health concerns. For example, parabens have been found to mimic oestrogen and disrupt the endocrine system and could irritate the skin.

To reduce the amount of synthetic materials that our bodies are exposed to, we have decided to partner with you in providing natural, organic skin care and hair care products that work with our bodies for softer, velvety skin and the hair that is softer and more manageable.

Through time, we were brainwashed to resist what we are at our core: African with skin that is velvety, dark and naturally glows with hair that has a coil texture, black, bouncy and is purely unique to us. We started using hair straightening harsh chemicals that strip our hair of its uniqueness, moisture and burns the scalp, leading to slow hair growth. The synthetic products were not meant for textured hair so they do not moisturise our hair adequately and we end up straightening it to remain manageable. But what if we told you that African, textured hair is manageable in all its glory? You just need the right natural products to get your there.

Skin care

We have the natural body butters, facial soaps and lip balms, made using natural ingredients that work with our skin, repairing broken skin barriers, moisturising dry, dull skin with various skin penetrating abilities into the skin for building the skin from the top to its depth. Our facial soaps also provide acne-controlling properties, with acne spots and pigment clearing benefits.

Hair care

We have various hair oils, hair butters and hair masks for moisturising the scalp and working to reduce the appearance of dandruff and for strong, shinier hair that is strong enough not to break easily and have excessive shedding. We believe that natural, African, or 4C hair as it is termed, does not grow. If it was not growing, our nails would also not be growing. The reason for our hair not seeming to grow is simple: no hair retention. Our hair has curly pattern that impedes the natural sebum from our scalp to spread to the tip of our hair. Its a longer journey through the coils than it is with straight hair of our Western counterpart. Thus, our tips get drier, develop split ends and break off easily because it is dry and vulnerable. Our environment is also generally dry with little humidity so our hair loses its water to the environment.

Solution: hydrate, moisturise and seal. Hydrating is giving our hair the water content. Moisturising is giving it the barrier against losing water and sealing is locking in the water/hydration. We have the products, you have the hair and the desire for longer, thicker hair. So, we partner.

At Prele Care, we believe that having the desire for clearer, velvety soft skin and longer, thicker and healthy hair is not vanity. We believe that we should not hide behind make-up and wigs and caps. No, our skin should be flaunted and hair worn proud.

Sustainable

The various palm oils that we use in our products are sourced from desolate fields which were left barren. To rehabilitate the fields and create income for the women and their families, they planted palm fields and process it to give us the most powerful skin care and hair care oils: the red palm oil and palm kernel oil. And yes, they do not harm the home of the orangutans.

Our products are sourced in small batches, taking care not to overharvest plant communities that are already struggling to survive. We also do not incorporate the endangered species in our production, such as frankincense. Yes, they do offer spectacular benefits for our skin and hair but what good is it if it damages our environment and ecosystem?

We reduce our carbon footprint by using oils and butters that are sourced in Africa, our motherland that gives us what we need and what nature always intended. As a bonus, our African ingredients give shout loud and proudly for our natural uniqueness always give is always at the core of why we make our products.
